Identity Management
This component provides the following functions:
- creation of user logins and passwords
- authentication of user logins and passwords
- management of invalid or unauthorised login attempts
- automatically disabling of login accounts where necessary
- logging of user login activity
- self-registration for intended portal users
- automated password reset
The software has the option of providing a self-register function to help minimise the administration effort required by the portal host in creation and maintaining user logins and passwords. The self-register function works by only allowing registration of persons or organisations that have matching details within the regulatory database.
All communication between the portal and the authenticated user for login and password details is performed via email to the user’s email address.
